Unrestricted research in THE LÄND
The strong scientific landscape in the German Southwest benefits from diverse perspectives and innovative ideas. This is why the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung has initiated a special program for international academic freedom.
Baden-Württemberg is an excellent destination for scientists from all over the world. It is home to more excellent state universities than any other federal state, invests more in research and development than anywhere else in Europe and is one of the safest regions in Germany.
Now, the state-owned foundation Baden-Württemberg Stiftung offers with a special program for international academic freedom a further advantage for postdocs and young researchers.
Funding to support international academic freedom
Given the increasing restrictions on science, THE LÄND would like to offer scientists in an early career phase, who are restricted in their ability to carry out their projects abroad due to their research or nationality, a perspective in Baden-Württemberg. Therefore, universities can make use of the following funding opportunities:
- They can can apply for scholarships to fund postdoctoral researchers for a period of up to two years.
- They can also apply for financial support to set up internationally attractive junior research groups.
With the aim of promoting excellence, scientists in an early career phase are given the opportunity to develop and implement their own, longer-term research project.
